Marvel Studios has released the first full trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, offering the biggest look yet at the next Avengers crossover event.
The trailer brings together heroes from three separate universes as they face an existential threat unlike anything they have encountered before. Robert Downey Jr. returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a completely different role as Victor von Doom, the central villain of the film.
The footage includes returning Avengers, members of the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers and familiar characters from the X-Men films. Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and several other major cast members appear in the expanding ensemble.
Marvel’s official synopsis says the heroes will be placed on a deadly collision course as separate universes begin moving toward a larger confrontation. The trailer suggests that the different teams may struggle to work together before recognizing the scale of the threat facing them.
Avengers: Doomsday is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, who previously directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
The film is produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito and Jonathan Schwartz. Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay.
The cast also includes Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, Simu Liu, Tom Hiddleston, Channing Tatum, Letitia Wright, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, David Harbour, James Marsden, Kelsey Grammer, Rebecca Romijn and Alan Cumming.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released exclusively in theaters on December 18, 2026.
