Springfield is returning to Fortnite Reload in a new trailer highlighting the map’s expanded matches, crossover content and progression updates.
The Simpsons-themed map returns on July 30 with support for 50 players, increasing Reload’s previous 40-player limit and creating more crowded battles across Springfield.
Springfield will remain the only map in the Reload rotation until August 3. Elite Stronghold and Slurp Rush will then return to the playlist.
The trailer also highlights The Confidential, a new neutral location inspired by the Continental hotel from the John Wick franchise.
Weapons cannot be used inside The Confidential, while players receive passive healing and can communicate through proximity chat.
Players who attack another person inside the location become excommunicado. The marked player receives unlimited stamina and faster reload speeds but becomes a visible target for the entire lobby.
Eliminating the excommunicado player rewards 1,500 Gold and improved loot.
A new Reload Portable Extractor can summon a John Wick Sprite that reveals nearby opponents to the player and their squad for several seconds after an enemy is knocked or eliminated.
Battle Pass owners can also unlock a Simpsonified John Wick style by completing the new Reload quests beginning July 30.
The update introduces a new Ranked season with rank-based rewards, including Reload’s Axe of Unreal for players who reach Unreal rank.
New Map Mastery Quests will provide additional unlockable rewards, while a seasonal Victory Umbrella can be earned by winning either a Ranked or Unranked match.
Reload’s post-match screen is also being updated to show how eliminations and placement affected a player’s Ranked progress.
Springfield, the Reload quests and the additional gameplay changes arrive through Fortnite’s July 30 update.
