Ryan Reynolds has offered his clearest update yet about Deadpool’s future, saying another movie featuring the character will eventually happen.

Speaking during Fanatics Fest 2026 in New York City, Reynolds discussed stories and ideas from Deadpool’s comic-book history that have not yet been explored on screen.

“There’s a few really deep cuts that I think are missing from the movies,” Reynolds said. He also pointed to material from the comics that could inspire future stories before adding that another Deadpool film will eventually arrive.

Reynolds did not confirm a title, production schedule, release date, director, or supporting cast. Marvel Studios has also not formally announced the project, meaning it remains unclear whether the movie will be a direct Deadpool 4 or a larger ensemble story featuring Wade Wilson.

The actor has previously suggested that Deadpool may work better as a supporting character moving forward instead of remaining the sole focus of another traditional sequel. Reynolds has described Wade as a character who thrives when surrounded by a larger group and placed in difficult situations.

Deadpool last appeared in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine alongside Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. The movie brought Wade Wilson into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and became the highest-grossing R-rated film worldwide.

Although major details remain unknown, Reynolds’ latest comments confirm that he still sees more stories to tell with the character. Fans will now have to wait for Marvel Studios to reveal what form Deadpool’s next movie will take.
