Actress and longtime Call of Duty fan Inde Navarrette received a rare sealed copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 during Fanatics Fest in New York City.
The 2009 Xbox 360 game was presented inside a protective display case by a fan. Navarrette immediately recognized the collectible and described it as one of the earliest and rarest copies of Modern Warfare 2.
Navarrette said a comparable copy had recently sold for approximately $1,000, but made it clear she had no intention of selling the gift. She said the collectible would remain in her home and be displayed in her room.
The gift was particularly meaningful because Navarrette has been a Call of Duty fan since childhood. She previously played the franchise with her older brother and later streamed games online before her acting career gained wider attention.
Navarrette attended Fanatics Fest as part of Call of Duty’s presence at the event. The weekend included game demonstrations, celebrity appearances and a panel featuring representatives from Activision and Infinity Ward.
The exact grading, production variant and market value of the copy have not been independently confirmed, so its estimated value may vary between collectors. Complex reported that the sealed copy was believed to be worth around $1,000.
