HBO has released a new poster for Lanterns, offering another look at Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart and Kyle Chandler’s Hal Jordan ahead of the series premiere.

The poster places the two Green Lanterns side by side beneath the series title and the question, “Are you afraid?” Its muted green color palette and empty roadside setting continue the grounded mystery tone established by the show’s earlier footage.

Lanterns follows John Stewart, a new recruit, and veteran Lantern Hal Jordan as they investigate a murder in the American heartland. HBO describes the pair as intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery.

Aaron Pierre stars as John Stewart, while Kyle Chandler plays Hal Jordan. The cast also includes Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Laura Linney, Jason Ritter, Ulrich Thomsen, Nathan Fillion, J. Alphonse Nicholson and Jasmine Cephas Jones.

Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King co-created the series, with Mundy serving as showrunner. James Hawes directed the first two episodes, while Stephen Williams, Geeta Vasant Patel and Alik Sakharov also directed episodes.

Lanterns is produced by HBO in association with Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios. The series is part of the connected DC Universe led by James Gunn and Peter Safran.

The first season will premiere August 16, 2026, on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.
