Avengers: Doomsday has earned $16.5 million during its first 24 hours of advance ticket sales, giving Marvel Studios’ next major crossover event a powerful start months before its theatrical release.
The early ticket campaign covered premium-format screenings at approximately 1,000 locations across North America.
Many screenings scheduled for Thursday, December 17, and Friday, December 18, are already largely sold out, according to studio insiders. Additional sessions are reportedly being added for Christmas Day and the following weeks as demand continues to grow.
The first-day total is particularly notable because tickets were not yet available across every theater and format.
Avengers: Doomsday is expected to open on more than 4,000 North American screens when it reaches theaters in December.
The movie’s early presales are reportedly twice as high as the first-day advance sales recorded by Deadpool & Wolverine. That comparison is not exact, however, because tickets for Deadpool & Wolverine were available across more formats and locations during its opening sales period.
Disney launched the limited presale campaign alongside the release of the first full Avengers: Doomsday trailer.
The trailer brings together heroes from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including members of the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men.
Robert Downey Jr. appears as Doctor Doom, the central villain facing the combined heroes. The footage also confirms Chris Evans’ return as Steve Rogers alongside Chris Hemsworth as Thor.
Other returning characters include Ant-Man, Black Panther, Professor X and Gambit.
The strong advance sales do not guarantee the movie’s final opening-weekend performance, but they show that interest remains high for Marvel’s first large-scale Avengers crossover since Avengers: Endgame.
Avengers: Doomsday opens in theaters on December 18, 2026.
