Producer Amy Pascal says she hopes director Destin Daniel Cretton will continue making Spider-Man movies after his work on Spider-Man: Brand New Day impressed the film’s creative team.

Speaking with SFX Magazine, Pascal praised Cretton’s handling of the upcoming movie and said he had “really blown all our minds.” She described him as a gifted action director whose work remains grounded in emotion, character and heart.

Cretton took over directing duties from Jon Watts, who directed Tom Holland’s first three solo Spider-Man films: Homecoming, Far From Home and No Way Home.

Pascal said the filmmakers loved working with Watts, but believes Cretton has also created something special with the next chapter of Peter Parker’s story. Her comments suggest Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are interested in continuing their relationship with the director, although another Spider-Man movie with Cretton has not been officially announced.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day stars Tom Holland and is officially directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. Sony lists the movie for a July 31, 2026 theatrical release.
