Megan Fox is reportedly preparing to return as Jennifer Check in a sequel to Jennifer’s Body.

Dread Central reports that Fox is expected to reprise her role from the 2009 horror comedy, which has developed a devoted following after initially struggling at the box office.

The original movie follows high-school cheerleader Jennifer Check after a failed ritual leaves her possessed by a demonic force. She begins targeting and killing male classmates while her best friend, Anita “Needy” Lesnicki, attempts to stop her.

Diablo Cody, who wrote the original film, confirmed earlier this year that she was actively writing a sequel. Reports have also indicated that Amanda Seyfried is interested in returning as Needy.

Director Karyn Kusama has acknowledged that work is underway on a follow-up and said the new story would reinvent the concept in an interesting way.

Recent production reports claim the sequel could begin filming in Vancouver in October 2026, with Fox and Seyfried returning. Cody is expected to write the screenplay, while Kusama has been linked to directing.

However, 20th Century Studios has not yet issued a formal announcement confirming the complete cast, production schedule or release date.

Jennifer’s Body was released in 2009 and received a mixed response during its original theatrical run. In the years since, the film has been reassessed for its horror-comedy style, themes surrounding exploitation and female relationships, and Fox’s performance as Jennifer.

The sequel remains without an official title or release date.
