Lionsgate has officially updated the iconic La La Land poster to fix the hand position that Ryan Gosling has joked about regretting for years.

The revised artwork once again shows Gosling and Emma Stone dancing against the Los Angeles skyline, but Gosling’s left hand has been digitally repositioned into the pose he originally wished he had used.

The previous poster showed his hand held flat and parallel to the ground. Gosling later said the position bothered him because he felt it disrupted the movement and energy of the dance pose.

He jokingly nicknamed the mistake “La La Hand” and explained that he had chosen the pose himself while filming the sequence.

The updated artwork is now being used to promote the movie’s 10th-anniversary theatrical return.

La La Land follows aspiring actress Mia and jazz musician Sebastian as they pursue their careers and relationship in Los Angeles.

The musical was written and directed by Damien Chazelle and originally opened in theaters in 2016. It received 14 Academy Award nominations and won six Oscars, including Best Actress for Emma Stone and Best Director for Chazelle.

Lionsgate has scheduled the anniversary re-release for August 16, 2026.

According to the studio, the corrected version will serve as the official La La Land poster going forward.
