Marvel Studios has been trying to bring Adam Driver into the Marvel Cinematic Universe for years, but the actor has repeatedly declined the studio’s offers.

During an appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige was asked how many conversations the studio has held with Driver about potential roles.

“Many, many, many,” Feige said.

Feige explained that Marvel remains interested in working with the actor, but their discussions have developed into something of a recurring pattern.

“It’s no secret that we’d like to, but it’s a tradition to Zoom with him and then he passes,” Feige said. “That’s a long-lived tradition.”

According to Feige, the conversations have remained respectful, with Driver being direct about whether a project or role interests him.

“He couldn’t be more cordial,” Feige added. “He is usually upfront about how he is feeling.”

Driver has been connected to several possible Marvel roles through reports and online speculation. He was previously linked to Reed Richards during development of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, before Pedro Pascal ultimately joined the film.

More recent rumors have connected Driver to Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men reboot, although Feige did not confirm that the actor has been cast or that any final casting decisions have been made.

Driver is best known to major franchise audiences for playing Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Despite Marvel’s continued interest, he has yet to officially join the MCU.

Feige’s comments suggest that Marvel Studios may continue approaching Driver when the right opportunity becomes available, even though their previous discussions have not resulted in a deal.
