Warner Bros. Pictures has released a special World Cup promo for Digger, the upcoming dark comedy starring Tom Cruise.

The short clip features Cruise in full prosthetic makeup as Digger Rockwell, an eccentric and enormously powerful oil billionaire. Seated in an elaborate room with a cat perched behind him, Digger casually controls a football while promoting the film during the World Cup finals weekend.

Directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Digger follows a powerful businessman who desperately attempts to prove that he can save humanity from a catastrophic disaster caused by his own company.

Cruise leads an ensemble cast that also includes Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Riz Ahmed, Jesse Plemons, Michael Stuhlbarg, Sophie Wilde, and Emma D’Arcy.

The film was shot in VistaVision and marks Iñárritu’s first English-language feature since The Revenant.

Digger arrives exclusively in theaters on October 2, 2026.
