Tom Cruise turned a delayed appearance at a special screening of The Odyssey into a memorable night for employees at AMC Lincoln Square in New York City.
Cruise had been scheduled to attend an IMAX screening of Christopher Nolan’s new epic, but severe weather delayed his trip into Manhattan. He reportedly arrived at approximately 10:45 p.m., after the original screening had already ended.
A private showing was arranged for Cruise, who then invited the AMC employees still working inside the theater to watch the film with him.
The group included workers who had been cleaning auditoriums, restocking concessions, and completing their late-night shifts.
Cruise later praised Nolan, producer Emma Thomas, and the film’s cast and crew, describing the screening as an amazing night at the movies.
The actor has long promoted theatrical moviegoing and premium formats such as IMAX.
The Odyssey is now playing in theaters.
