Filming is underway on They Follow, the long-awaited sequel to David Robert Mitchell’s acclaimed psychological horror film It Follows.

Maika Monroe returns as Jay Height, with the new story taking place approximately a decade after the events of the original film. David Robert Mitchell is once again writing and directing.

Naomi Ackie has joined the project in a leading role, while Michael Gandolfini, Jackie Earle Haley, Justine Lupe, Anna Mirodin, Jayne Taini, Tom Pecinka, Melora Walters, Ben Krieger, Natalie Shinnick, and Jan Hoag are also part of the expanded ensemble.

Plot details remain under wraps, but the sequel will revisit the supernatural threat that relentlessly pursued Jay and her friends in the first movie.

Disasterpeace is also returning to compose the score, reuniting with Mitchell after creating the original film’s distinctive electronic sound.

They Follow does not currently have an announced theatrical release date.
