Sekiro: No Defeat brings FromSoftware’s award-winning action game to the big screen on September 4, 2026.

Set during Japan’s violent Sengoku era, the story follows Wolf, a deadly shinobi sworn to protect the young Divine Heir, Kuro. When Kuro is taken by Genichiro Ashina, Wolf is pulled into a brutal fight against warriors, monsters and forces tied to the power of immortality.

The film will retell the central conflict of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice while focusing on the bond between Wolf and the master he refuses to abandon. Sword fights, resurrection and the struggle for control of Ashina will drive the story toward a deadly confrontation.

Sekiro: No Defeat is directed by Kenichi Kutsuna and produced by animation studio Qzil.la. The movie is being created as a fully hand-drawn 2D production.

The film opens in Japan on September 4, 2026 for a limited three-week theatrical run. Crunchyroll has also confirmed that it will stream the movie internationally at a later date, although the worldwide streaming schedule has not been announced yet.
