Halo: Campaign Evolved is bringing Master Chief’s original adventure to a new generation when it launches on July 28, 2026.

Developed by Halo Studios, the game is a modernized remake of the campaign from Halo: Combat Evolved, rebuilt for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

The story begins after the UNSC Pillar of Autumn crash-lands on a mysterious ringworld known as Halo. Master Chief and Cortana must help the remaining human forces survive against the Covenant while uncovering the ring’s dangerous purpose.

The original campaign missions return with high-definition visuals, updated cinematics, refined level design, rebuilt audio and more responsive controls.

Campaign Evolved also expands the original combat sandbox with nine additional weapons from across the Halo series. Players will be able to hijack enemy vehicles and pilot a fully drivable Wraith tank for the first time in this version of the campaign.

The remake includes Operation: Meteorite, a new three-mission story set one year before the events of Halo: Combat Evolved.

Operation: Meteorite follows Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson during a secret UNSC mission aboard a Covenant research vessel. The mission begins as a targeted operation but develops into a larger confrontation involving new environments and enemies.

Players can complete the campaign alone, through two-player split-screen co-op on consoles or with up to four players through online co-op.

Online play supports cross-platform multiplayer and shared progression across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

A Campaign Remix feature adds further replay value by allowing players to revisit missions with gameplay-changing Skulls that can randomize weapons, enemies and environments.

Halo: Campaign Evolved launches globally on July 28, 2026. Premium and Collector’s Edition owners can receive up to five days of early access beginning July 23.

The game will also be available through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass at launch.
