Basketball and football appear set to have a noticeable presence throughout Grand Theft Auto VI’s version of Vice City.

Several official images released by Rockstar Games contain jerseys, arenas, basketball courts and other references connected to fictional professional sports teams within the game’s world.

Dre’Quan Priest can be seen wearing a Vice City Manatees jersey, while a woman featured in GTA 6’s promotional artwork wears another jersey carrying the same team name.

The Manatees appear to be Vice City’s fictional football team, with their colors and branding drawing comparisons to the NFL’s Miami Dolphins.

Another image features a member of the PTT Youngins wearing a Vice City Narcos jersey. The Narcos appear to represent Vice City’s fictional professional basketball team and use colors inspired by Miami’s real-world basketball culture.

Rockstar’s images also show Jason Duval with a basketball hoop outside his home. Another screenshot appears to show Jason and Cal Hampton playing basketball together.

These scenes have led to speculation that basketball could become an interactive activity. However, Rockstar has not confirmed whether players will be able to participate in complete basketball games, join teams or attend professional sporting events.

Vice City also contains a major waterfront venue commonly referred to as Sahara Arena. Its design appears heavily inspired by Miami’s Kaseya Center, the home arena of the Miami Heat.

Branding visible around the venue suggests that the fictional Sahara delivery company sponsors the arena and may also have a commercial relationship with the Vice City Narcos.

Dre’Quan is additionally shown wearing sports merchandise that may reference a previous championship victory, although Rockstar has not provided an official history for either fictional team.

The repeated use of jerseys and sports locations suggests that professional basketball and football will contribute to Vice City’s identity, advertising and wider culture.

Previous Grand Theft Auto games included activities such as golf, tennis, darts and street basketball courts, but GTA 6’s complete selection of playable side activities remains unannounced.

For now, the official images confirm that sports culture exists throughout Vice City. Whether basketball and football become fully playable activities remains to be seen.

Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
